Staffed and later managed the business and technology commercialization section of U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Appropriate Technology Assistance Service for energy-technology entrepreneurs and small businesses;

Participated as a member of DOE’s Commercialization Planning Workshops for companies receiving financial and technical assistance;

Participated on the Commercialization Team of the DOE's Inventions & Innovation Program to review and provide recommendations for supporting the commercialization activities of individual awardees;

Helped develop the commercialization evaluation criteria for proposals to DOE’s Inventions & Innovation Program;

Reviewed hundreds of applications prepared for submission to DOE’s Inventions & Innovation Program, the SBIR/STTR programs, and other federal and state funding resources;

Originated and managed the design, development, implementation, and multi-year maintenance of DOE’s Energy TechNet Web site created specifically to provide resources and guidance to entrepreneurs engaged in developing and commercializing innovative technology;

Organized and carried out campaigns to generate Congressional support for threatened programs;

Carried out "best practices" study of state assistance programs;

Completed a third-party readership-satisfaction study of a nationally distributed newsletter.
